I just bought Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and Guitar Hero World Tour last night for Wii… WOW. I’ve really been missing out. I wanted to get my hands on the WT guitar bundle, but Best Buy was all sold out.
I was heartbroken and even considering buying the GH III bundle (which has the better pre-packed songs, IMO, anyway), even though I knew there was no DLC for it on Wii. The ability to download new songs was a big reason I decided to jump into the GH world with World Tour.
But then, I had an epiphany! I had a $50 Best Buy gift card thanks to points I had racked up on my debit card and since I was expecting to spend around $50 of my own money anyway, I opted for the GH III bundle and picked up the WT game itself. Two GH games, one guitar, $60 total. Not bad!
I spent most of the evening playing it, time really flies on that game. Of course, I started the career mode on Easy, and Slash gave me a lot of trouble (never did beat him), but I’m still having fun all the way through and ready to take it up to Medium.
I now finally see why Guitar Hero is the phenomenon that it is. I just hope they release the drums and microphone for World Tour separately at some point. They did have the band bundle in stock, but that would’ve been $150 out of pocket and more than I was willing to spend.
And yes, I’m back on WordPress… for the time being at least. I wasn’t happy with the set up of the other blog for various reasons.
