Because I was too lazy to do 10 the first time around…

Friday the 13th (1988, LJN)
LJN loved to shoehorn their box art in between these slanted black borders. That’s not even really all that bad though, the main crime is the technicolor vomit behind JASON VOORHEES. It was an awful game and the best design in the world wasn’t going to change that, but c’mon… Look, I know it was the 80s, but seriously, were ANY of the Friday movies this colorful? No. It’s like he’s exploding out of a pack of Skittles. TASTE THE RAINBOW!

Dance Aerobics (1989, Nintendo)
Speaking of the 1980s… I wonder how funny all the WiiFit games are gonna look in 20 years?

Whomp ‘Em (1991, Jaleco)
Wow, I don’t even care what this game is about (it’s a Wonder Boy/Megaman-type game), NO WAY this box art would ever get the “OK” these days. Strike that, even the TITLE wouldn’t get signed off on.
What, no casino in the background? No empty bottles “firewater” lying around at his feet?

Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1989, Seta)
Starring Frankie Muniz, The Clone of Frankie Muniz and Pippi Longstocking. Three really ugly kids getting attacked by an alligator? Well, at least it’s humorous…

Amagon (1989, American Sammy)
Amagonna say this might be the worst cover yet. See what I did there?

WOMP EM!
Thats awesome! Wow, there must have been a lot more NES games than I thought there were.
At least Whomp Em was a decent game. Amagon kinda sucked, but not worst boxart ever. I still think that honor goes to the original Mega Man artwork.
