Pepperidge Farm Star Wars Cookies

11 Jun

In the early 80s, you could not escape Star Wars. 1983′s Return of the Jedi set off one of the first major marketing bonanzas for a movie and Star Wars merchandise was all over the place, well into the mid-80s (I had the bedsheets to prove it).

And of course, any movie worth the reel it’s printed on deserves it’s own line of cookies! Pepperidge Farm released Star Wars Cookies in 1983, giving us three wonderful flavors: vanilla, chocolate and peanut butter.

A great design for all three boxes and there’s also a great amount detail on the cookies. While I was only 2 years old when these came out, I swear I remember eating them, but I’m guessing the actual cookies probably weren’t as detailed.

Early in the product’s release, there was a mail-away offer to get 4 FREE Return of the Jedi tumbler cups.
