I LOVE peppermint ice cream. There’s a couple of variations of it. I’ve seen peppermint bark ice cream, white peppermint ice cream, green peppermint ice cream, pink peppermint ice cream, candy cane ice cream, etc. And they all usually have some crushed up peppermint candy canes thrown in for good measure.
A few days ago, I came across a new twist on an old favorite while shopping at Target:
Peppermint Neapolitan cream! This is fantastic and check out how adorable the polar bear with the scarf is! When buying it, I initially assumed “okay, green and white ice cream, but they’ll both be peppermint”. Obviously, I didn’t read the description on the container. The green ice cream is peppermint-flavored and the white is plain ol’ vanilla ice cream.
This actually works out well because sometimes peppermint ice cream can be too overpowering and after eating a few spoonfuls, I find that it begins to dull your taste buds. Mixing peppermint with vanilla is a pretty good idea to keep things interesting for the tongue. If holiday candles can do it, why not ice cream?
Not the most sharp picture but included in the ice cream are mint candy bits — red
Christmas stockings and green Christmas trees. They aren’t hard and crunchy. They are a bit waxy but I enjoy them in some weird way.
I will still have my fill of other peppermint ice cream this holiday season, but I’m calling Target’s peppermint Neapolitan a victory.
