We now return to The Metal Misfit Recreates TMNT Cereal! (See Episode I)
Let me tell you, as great as it is to recreate Ninja Turtle cereal, I felt like a bit of a loser. Okay, a BIG loser. I seriously picked marshmallows out of freakin’ Marshmallow Treasures for close to FORTY MINUTES. But it was worth it. I have to say I successfully recreated TMNT cereal. The Honey Nut Bitz and marshmallows worked perfectly together. Now sit back, chug some milk and take a look at the process…
A mountain of a task was set before me. Maybe timed marshmallow picking will catch on at family and company picnics.
The Honey Nut Bitz. An exact duplicate of the “ninja nets”! All they had to do was sit and wait for the marshmallow picking to be completed…
Ugh. My hands got SOOOOOOOOOOO sticky and dusty by digging through this bowl.
Okay, phew! 40 minutes in and the hard part is over. Here’s final result of the separation process. I was tempted to gobble the marshmallows themselves.

Ahh… Mission complete.
I won’t show you a bowlful of this stuff, because I want you to see the ending with your own eyes, in your own home. I IMPLORE YOU– PLEASE… try this at home. If you ever had TMNT cereal, you know it was awesome and this is just as good. Yeah, the marshmallows aren’t in a vague turtle shape, but so what? It’s the FLAVOR that must be savored and Marshmallow Honey Nut Bitz capture the essence of that cereal perfectly.

You get major points for doing this! I don’t think I have the patience to pick 183456 marshmallows out of a bag of Marshmallow Mateys. Wouldn’t it be kickass if they sold cereal marshmallows separately, so you could have marshmallow anything? Marshmallow Raisin Bran!

You know, if you’re able to find a bulk foods store near you, they usually sell large bags of just cereal marshmallows. That might help. :)

I’ve never seen cereal marshmallows ONLY at a bulk store, but I know you can get them online.
You appreciate the finished product more when its by your own hands though. :P

Ok. I tried it.. I don’t know if it tastes the same as it did when I was a kid..I took my first bite and expected this HUGE epiphany, but alas none :-(
Guess that’s what happens when you get old. (still ate it though) or maybe it’s because I’m at my house and not Grandma’s kitchen filled with the smell of coffee and second hand smoke..lol.
On a side note: My hubby thought of an easier way to pull out the marshmallows, throw it on a cookie sheet and sort through the cereal. Took me about 10 minutes max…
Second side note: The soggier it gets..the more I remember…

If i recall correctly, Spiderman Cereal and TMNT cereal were the same thing-a better approximation of what both of these cereals taste like is Crispix with Marshmallows(at least the Spiderman cereal, I could be mistaken that it was the same as TMNT).
